I accidently stumbled upon GOJIRA in 2008 whilst drinking beer in a studio (during the recordings of some Old-school Swedish Death Metal). The love connection was instant, GOJIRA became, and has ever since been, my French lover. I anticipated that “L’Enfant Sauvage” would bring our relationship further, but never did I imagine that it would be filled with such perfection. This is indeed so far the album of the year.

Maryland’s DYING FETUS are back with their seventh full-lenght album, “Reign Supreme”, and I must say that the album title really hits the spot. This album does indeed reign supreme.
The last album had some groove in it, but [it] was basically a lot of tech; this one is a return to form of older Fetus albums, so to speak — more modern production, though, of course. Everything’s tight, the sound is crushing, the drums are amazing. // John Gallagher
I’m basically buying everything that John says in the statement above, and with a good reason. Just hit the PLAY button and experience this magnificent album for yourselves….

The month of May has been a good month. Some of my personal favourites were new albums from bands such as BLODHEMN, CARACH ANGREN, HELLTRAIN, THE INIQUITY DESCENT, OKERA, WATAIN and WHOURKR. New albums from AHAB, BURZUM, THE DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA, ENGEL, FURZE, GRAND MAGUS, HORSEBACK, HOUR OF 13, SABATON, ULVER etc. are also worth mentioning.

Swedish Death Metallers SECTU are back with their second bashing. Things have moved quickly in the camp since it was pretty much just a year ago when they unleashed their debut “Inundate“. “Gerra” continues in the vein of its predecessor. Technical, yet groovy and melodic, death metal that at times reminds me of the greatness that MORBID ANGEL once possessed.
